Splunk Expands Into Latin America; Hires Regional Operations Director

SAN FRANCISCO, May 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Splunk, the leading provider of operational intelligence software, today announced Victor Almandoz has joined the company as Director of Latin American operations. He will be responsible for leading Splunk's sales activities in South America, Mexico and the Caribbean by expanding Splunk's presence in key vertical markets and growing the reseller network in the region.

Victor brings a wealth of experience to Splunk with experience as CEO, founder, practice manager and sales representative. Most recently he was at Indra, the largest Spanish outsourcing company in Mexico. Prior to Indra, Victor was a founding partner and Latin American director for GSI Software Solutions (now Data Warden), a Mexican company specializing in software solutions for end-point security, SOX and PCI network compliance, and network configuration and change management. He also has held positions in sales organizations at Attachmate, DEC, IBM, and Computer Associates (CA). In addition, he was the founding partner of the IT services company PISSA Group, now SONDA Mexico.

Almandoz will be based in Mexico City, Mexico. Victor was born in Peru and holds a BA in Management Information Systems (MIS) from New York University. He has written articles in numerous newspapers and magazines including Computerworld Mexico, EDI Forum Chicago, EDI Input Research, Electronic Banking Magazine and has been an invited speaker to multiple conferences across Latin America, such as Interop, Conecta Sao Paulo, IBM, Unisys, AMECOP among others. With fluency in several languages, Almandoz is well positioned to lead Splunk's continued global expansion in the region.
