Springstone Names Robert Maha CEO; W. Earl Reed, III to Become Chairman
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Springstone, LLC, a national provider of behavioral health and addiction treatment, announced today that Robert Maha, MD, will step into the role of chief executive officer and founder W. Earl Reed will assume the position of Chairman of the Board. Established in 2010, Springstone now operates 10 hospitals in four states and has hospitals in development in seven additional markets.
Dr. Maha has held numerous executive leadership roles for a wide spectrum of healthcare organizations. Most recently Dr. Maha served as the chief operating officer and chief medical officer for MedExpress, the nation's leading provider of urgent care with more than 160 centers in 14 states. Prior to MedExpress, Dr. Maha held leadership roles with University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) including president of a large entrepreneurial physician group and vice president of the UPMC Physician Services Division, one of the nation's largest physician groups with more than 3,000 employed physicians.
Dr. Maha obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and received his MBA in Finance from Robert Morris University. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh and is board certified in emergency medicine. He also served as a major in the U.S. Air Force.
