SPRK ILLUMINATES MINILAND AT NEW LEGOLAND® RESORT IN SHANGHAI

LEXINGTON, Ky., July 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- SPRK - A Kentucky-based firm known for its innovative work in themed entertainment, is proud to announce the successful completion of the design and installation of immersive lighting for MINILAND at the all-new LEGOLAND® Resort in Shanghai, China.

MINILAND, the heart of every LEGOLAND® park, features incredibly detailed LEGO® recreations of iconic cities and landmarks—this time showcasing some of China's most beloved sites brought to life in miniature brick-built form. SPRK was chosen by Merlin Entertainments and Merlin Magic Making to create a dynamic environment that enhances the storytelling, scale, and magic of these intricate models, through day to night cycles and special show experiences within the space.

The Shanghai LEGOLAND® Resort marks the LEGO® brand's first full-scale theme park resort in China and Merlin Entertainments' most ambitious projects in Asia to date. SPRK's scope of work included theatrical and architectural lighting design, control system design, project oversight and management and final lighting focus, show creative development and lighting programming. SPRK worked in tandem with MMM's model team to integrate pixel controllable lighting within built LEGO® models to add additional layers of depth and dynamics to the MINILAND experience.

The project continues SPRK's expansion in international markets and strengthens its reputation as a premier lighting design firm for theme parks, experiential spaces, and cultural attractions.
