
St Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2010: New formats and Smart Services Boosted Results of the Event
ST PETERSBURG, Russia, July 26, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The final meeting of the Forum's Organisational Committee has been held where some of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum's results were announced.
PARTICIPANTS
In 2010, over 4,200 participants from 87 countries attended the Forum (2009: 3,561 participants from 83 countries).
Participants in the Forum's official program included over 80 heads of major international companies, e.g. Lukoil, RUSAL, Mechel, Gazprom, Deutsche Bank , Microsoft International, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Eni S.p.A., Ernst & Young Global, Bank of Israel and etc.

The Forum was also attended by official delegations from 80 countries.
Furthermore, 1,134 media representatives from 24 countries took part in the event
BUSINESS PROGRAMME
The Program included 42 events (2009: 30):
- 2 plenary sessions: The World under Change and Rethinking Global

- 26 panel sessions,
- 6 round tables
The following events were held in a new format:
- CNBC televised debate
- 2 Industry Breakfasts
- 5 briefings
- a meeting of the Russian Federation Commission on Modernization and

All in all, 346 moderators, speakers and discussion participants took part in the Forum (2009: 268).
SMART SERVICES
Deep Dive
Forum participants enjoyed the opportunity to use a new smart service - Deep Dive (deepdive.forumspb.com). It provided information on Forum sessions and "Fast Facts" - trends and digital and chart analyses.
Forum on your iPad. The Forum's television network
Live TV broadcasts, Forum sessions, event broadcasts and information sessions were available on a wide variety of mobile devices for participants and journalists. Special websites and applications were developed for the latest generation of mobile devices, including iPads and iPhones.
Moreover, participants and journalists were able to watch broadcasts Telemarker panels and Online and Offline modes on the Forum Web site http://www.forumspb.com (the Broadcasts section).
AGREEMENTS
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2010, 47 investment agreements were signed for a total of 338 billion rubles (2009: 14 agreements for around 220 billion rubles), including:
- 18 investment contracts (agreements) totalling 275.6 billion rubles.
The largest investment project boosted by the Forum was a 65 billion ruble cooperation agreement signed by St. Petersburg and RusHydro for joint implementation of Energy projects .
- 4 merger agreements totalling 60 billion roubles
- 27 memorandums of intent, one of them envisaging a 1.8 billion ruble
deal
