Stand Together Invests $6.86 Million To Organizations Empowering More Children To Realize Their Potential
Commitment is the final in a series of six investments made throughout National Poverty Awareness Month
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 31, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Stand Together announced today $6.86 million in commitments to conclude its series of community-based investments during National Poverty Awareness Month. The latest grants will enable ten Stand Together partner organizations to increase the impact of their work helping young people achieve their full potential.

Stand Together's partner organizations harness innovative, dynamic models to help children and youth living in low-income communities transform their lives to break the cycle of poverty. Employing a variety of effective tactics in the nation's most vulnerable communities, each partner organization strives to provide all young Americans with a fair shot at success.
About the Youth and Education Catalyst Network organizations receiving investments from Stand Together in the first quarter of 2019:
ACE Scholarships: $1,000,000 to strengthen existing operations and serve an additional 1,000 students.
Education Opens Doors: $315,000 to deepen and expand impact in North Texas by growing two district partnerships and activating thousands more students to determine and pursue an informed future.
Elevate USA: $800,000 to competitively select five affiliate sites and serve an additional 1,250 students.
Friends of the Children: $850,000 to establish a new chapter in Fargo, North Dakota.
Jeremiah Program: $700,000 to expand the impact of its two-generation approach that prepares single mothers to excel in the workforce and readies their children to succeed in school. Forty-eight more families will be served in 2019, raising the total number of families served to 196 by the end of the year.
Rise Up For Youth: $125,000 to serve 300 more students, leading to a 100 percent increase of students served for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Path Project: $70,000 to enter two new mobile home parks in metro Atlanta by fall 2019. This will bring the total number of communities served to 10 and increase the total student impact from 800 to 1,000 students by the end of 2019.
Thread: $500,000 to more than double its enrollment of young people by 2021 in Baltimore.
Urban Specialists: $1,500,000 to build a training capability that equips hundreds of community members to join its work, serving as powerful social transformers and positive role models to young people in Dallas, Atlanta and Baton Rouge.
Youth Guidance: $1,000,000 to implement BAM® and WOW™ and serve 1,815 more youth during the 2019-2020 school year in three new cities, as well as Chicago and Boston.
These organizations are part of Stand Together's growing Catalyst Network of more than 115 community-based organizations working to break the cycle of poverty in America across six issue areas: Addiction and Mental Health; Financial Empowerment and Entrepreneurship; Housing and Homelessness; In-Prison, Reentry and Second Chances; Workforce Development; and Youth and Education.
