PITTSBURGH, Sept. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- StarKist^® announced today that Charlie^®the Tuna, the alTUNAtive 2016 Presidential Candidate, has launched his search for a running mate. Every president needs a vice presidential candidate, and Charlie's campaign team will begin outreach to some of the nation's most well-known brand mascots to join his ticket to run for the White House.

As Charlie narrows down his top picks and gains interest from various brand mascots, StarKist will share the participating VPs' platforms on social media. The official VP voting will open via Facebook from October 17 through October 27 so fans can choose Charlie's official swimming-mate. Participants that cast a VP vote will be entered to win four years – or the course of Charlie's time in office – of free StarKist® tuna flavor fresh pouches. The official announcement of the VP and the grand prize winner will take place on October 28.
