State Of Washington Produces New, Highly Secure, ID Cards And Driver Licenses

OLYMPIA, Wash., March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) deployed its new State Identification (IDs) and Driver License (DLs) system with its partner Valid USA based in Lisle, IL. It includes back office functions and pilot sites at DOL Shelton and Lacey offices. The new ID/DL central issuance system (CIS) provides licensing offices efficient biographic data capture of photo and signature images. The innovative solution utilizes real-time, one-to-one facial recognition during applicant enrollment; one-to-many facial recognition matching with industry-leading algorithms; case management and image investigation tools; remote issuance; and much improved card security.

The new card contains security enhancements and is compliant with current AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators) Card Design Standards and includes durable, tamper-resistant/evident features. The new document exceeds mandated security feature requirements for all WA card types and formats, and the ID/DL cards are manufactured and personalized in redundant, secure Valid facilities.

The Washington Department of Licensing will deploy its solution to all License Services Offices across the state in the next four months.
