Statement by Californians Against Higher Health Care Costs on Failure of Consumer Watchdog to Qualify Flawed Initiative for November Ballot
SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiona Hutton, Campaign Spokesperson, today issued the following statement on behalf of Californians Against Higher Health Care Costs, the coalition of physician groups, doctors, hospitals, health care providers, small businesses and others opposed to the health insurance ballot initiative that special interest backed Consumer Watchdog failed to qualify for the November 2012 statewide election:
"Whether it's on the 2012 or 2014 ballot, this flawed, costly measure is not real health reform. This measure would give one politician too much power over health coverage, do nothing to address the underlying costs driving health care premiums, and create an expensive and duplicative state bureaucracy that will be paid for with higher health insurance premiums."

Paid for by Californians Against Higher Health Care Costs, a coalition of doctors, hospitals, health insurers, and California employers. Major funding by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Anthem Blue Cross, United Healthcare Insurance Company, Health Net, Inc., and Blue Shield of California.
