Statement from AAHSA CEO Larry Minnix on DOJ Assurances to Sen. Kohl of Changes to the Controlled Substances Act That Will Enable Timely Pain Medication to Nursing Home Residents
WASHINGTON, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging:
"We thank Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wisc.) for his leadership on assuring that nursing home residents can receive the pain medications they need as quickly as possible. We appreciate that nurses and other health care professionals will now be allowed to act as agents of the practitioner for all prescribed Schedule II-V controlled substances.
