At the rally, USW International President Leo W. Gerard will join Clinton and McAuliffe to discuss the importance of voting in this election and the clear choice facing Virginia voters between McAuliffe's mainstream plan to create jobs and invest in education and his opponent's extreme ideological agenda.
"Terry McAuliffe is the clear, common sense choice for working families in Virginia," Gerard said. "His vision will be essential in rebuilding the state's infrastructure and his leadership necessary to generate thousands more jobs by encouraging energy efficiency and supporting people in making their homes and businesses more efficient."
"His comprehensive approach to workforce development and commitment to focus on employment will to make Virginia a smarter, cleaner and more affordable place to do business," Gerard said. "He will stand on the side of workers to protect and promote American jobs, spur innovation and ensure that Virginia gets the investment it needs to grow and prosper."
The USW represents 850,000 men and women employed in metals, mining, pulp and paper, rubber, chemicals, glass, auto supply and the energy-producing industries, along with a growing number of workers in public sector and service occupations.
