Highly regarded retail properties specialist becomes Principal, will form retail Dream Team with Derrick Moore
LOS ANGELES, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Christopher Cooper, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Southern California region, announced today that retail leasing and sales specialist Stephanie Skrbin has joined the firm in Los Angeles.
Effectively immediately, Skrbin becomes a Principal of Avison Young. She will team up with Los Angeles urban retail properties leader Derrick Moore, who is also a Principal. They will focus on developing Avison Young's institutional retail leasing and investment practice in Southern California, as well as mid-cap retail product and clientele. Skrbin will service clients throughout Greater Los Angeles while Moore continues to represent downtown retail investors, owners and tenants.

Skrbin brings to Avison Young 12 years of commercial real estate experience, primarily in the retail sector. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a Principal of commercial real estate brokerage firm Lee & Associates–L.A. North/Ventura, Inc. Her expertise as a retail specialist includes investment sales, landlord and tenant representation, and asset management.

Moore joined Avison Young in November 2012 when the firm opened its first Downtown Los Angeles office. He leads the company's downtown L.A. retail efforts and has represented numerous national and local tenants, including T-Mobile, Wells Fargo, Subway, FedEx, Rite Aid, Bottle Rock, American Apparel, CVS, Panda Express and McDonald's.
Avison Young opened its first office in Southern California in August 2011. Since then, the Southern California operation has grown to six offices and 120 employees.

With 12 years of commercial real estate experience in Greater Los Angeles, Stephanie Skrbin most recently served as a Principal with Lee & Associates–L.A. North/Ventura, Inc., a full-service commercial real estate brokerage. During her career, she has successfully completed retail real estate sale and lease transactions valued in excess of $550 million on behalf of such prestigious clients as Target, Total Woman Gym + Spa, Toys R Us, In-N-Out Burger, Chase Bank, City National Bank, Starbucks, Panera Bread Co., Subway, T-Mobile, Go Wireless, Vista Paint, Veggie Grill, Poquito Mas, Which Wich, Yogurtland and Tutti Frutti. In the process, she has successfully negotiated more than 400 sale and lease transactions on behalf of major shopping center operators and national and regional tenants, including Rite Aid and CarMax. She also represented metroPCS in its Southern California launch, completing 20 lease agreements for the telecom company.
Before moving to Lee & Associates, Skrbin served as an Associate with Staubach Retail in Newport Beach, CA, where she was named National Broker of the Year by restaurant firm Panera Bread Co. Earlier in her career, Skrbin served as an Associate and marketing specialist with the company now known as CBRE in Greater Los Angeles, where she was a member of the brokerage company's No. 1 global and Southern California retail teams. While at CBRE, she represented Target, Office Depot, CVS, Panda Express and T-Mobile, among others. She also acted for Rich Development Co. in the $50-million sale of a nationwide portfolio of seven NNN lease properties, and represented MetLife in the sale of seven Circuit City properties located throughout the U.S. totaling approximately $40 million.
In 2012, Skrbin was named by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal as Retail Market Leader for her transactional productivity and expertise. And in 2010, the same publication recognized her as one of its 40 Under 40 and Women in Business award nominees. Skrbin is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Association of Commercial Real Estate. She holds a Bachelor of Science in physiology from the University of Arizona.
