Stephen Walsh Joins Mediant Communications
Widely-Known Industry Expert to Head Issuer Affairs
NEW YORK, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Mediant Communications, a fast-growing shareholder communications company, announced today Stephen G. Walsh has joined as Director of Industry Relations and Issuer Affairs. Mr. Walsh is a well-known industry expert on proxy and other regulatory issues facing corporations and investment companies.
Mr. Walsh comes to Mediant after thirty years with the New York Stock Exchange where he most recently served as Vice President, Securities Operations and Market Watch. At the Exchange he managed the review of the Exchange's proxy rules. Mr. Walsh was responsible for organizing and managing the Proxy Working Group, a group of corporate governance experts who contributed significantly to the subsequent development and revision of the proxy rules.
Mr. Walsh was also responsible for overseeing the Exchange's Market Watch Group, which administers the Exchange's Timely Alert Policy coordinating the flow of material information from listed companies to the Trading Floor to insure that fair and orderly markets are maintained. From May 1997 until June 2000, he was also responsible for managing the Exchange's new listing efforts for initial public offerings/structured products.
