CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterling Capital Management LLC (Sterling) announced today the addition of three equity funds previously managed by Stratton Management Company (Stratton): Mid Cap Value, Small Cap Value and Real Estate. Effective today, these funds are now part of Sterling's lineup of 25 mutual funds, offering investors access to a variety of asset classes and sectors.
The Sterling Capital Stratton Mid Cap Value Fund is for investors who desire a focus on capital appreciation, are seeking equity exposure to the mid-capitalization segment of the U.S. equity market, and are investing for retirement or other long-term goals. The Sterling Capital Stratton Real Estate Fund is for investors who seek total return through real estate securities. In pursuing total return, the fund emphasizes both capital appreciation and current income. The Sterling Capital Stratton Small Cap Value Fund is for those who prefer an investment that focuses on capital appreciation, are willing to accept more market risk in return for potentially higher returns that may come from investing in small-cap companies, and are investing for retirement or other long-term goals.
"We are very excited to bring on these new strategies that complement our existing suite of investment solutions," said John W. McAuley, CIMA, head of sales & client service at Sterling. "The combined entity will allow us to meet the ever-changing landscape of the adviser community."
The Sterling Capital Stratton funds have an extensive track record dating back to 1972 and will be offered in share classes A, C, and Institutional. Designed to be identical from an investment perspective to each corresponding Stratton Mutual Funds, clients can expect the same high-quality fund management by the Stratton portfolio managers, based in Philadelphia, Pa., who have joined Sterling Capital.
"We look forward to joining the Sterling Capital team and are confident shareholders will greatly benefit from this combination," said Gerald M. Van Horn, CFA, portfolio manager of the Small Cap Value Fund. "Sterling's scale and depth of operational support will allow us to continue to focus on the well-established investment processes of these three products."
