Steward Partners Welcomes Former New York Times CEO Janet Robinson To Board

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ – Steward Partners Holdings LLC (Steward), the holding company for Steward Partners Global Advisory and Steward Partners Consulting Solutions, today announced that Janet Robinson, the former CEO, President, and Director of The New York Times Company, has joined as the eighth member of the firm's Board of Directors. Ms. Robinson is the fourth outside director to accept a board seat. Other prominent members include Board Chairman, Michael McMahon, founder and Managing Director of global investment firm Pine Brook Partners, Gary Miller, President and Co-Founder of Patty Madden Inc., and Dan Polk, CEO of Baxter, Stinson and Polk, a pre-eminent multi-family office in Annapolis, MD. Senior leaders from Steward who sit on the board are Mike Maurer, Jim Gold, Hy Saporta and Scott Abry.

Ms. Robinson retired from the New York Times Company in December of 2011 where she was President, CEO and Director. She began her career in media at The New York Times Company in 1983.

Ms. Robinson was presented with an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration degree from Salve Regina University in May 1998. She is currently a trustee of The Carnegie Corporation of New York and formerly served as chairman of the board. She is a member of the International Advisory Board of Fleishman Hillard. She is Chairman of the Presidential Board of Trustees of Salve Regina University, and is a member of the Leadership Committee for The Lincoln Center Consolidated Corporate Fund. She is Co Chairman of the Ad Council Advisory Committee, a trustee of the University of Rhode Island Oceanography Graduate School, and a trustee of The Preservation Society of Newport County.
