ATLANTA, Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Storage Post Self Storage, a custom storage solutions provider, donated dozens of boxes to the United Way of Rockland County to assist with its September food drive. The Rockland Hunger Action Coalition, which is comprised of several community and charitable organizations, recently declared September 2013 "Hunger Action Month" for Rockland County, New York.
The goal of the Rockland Hunger Action Coalition is to raise awareness of food-insecure families and individuals, and to implement initiatives that improve and feed the community. Hunger is a pervasive issue for the county, with more people affected every year, including adults in assisted living, families and seniors with fixed incomes. Storage Post supports the efforts of the coalition to end hunger and was pleased to help by donating supplies.
"When United Way approached us and informed us of the cause and Hunger Action Month, we wanted to help immediately," said Mohammad Sadqeen, Storage Post's district manager in the area. "They needed storage boxes to hold donated food and we were able to quickly provide them from our full-service merchandise centers."
Storage Post is known for its community involvement and charitable efforts, including hosting food and coat drives at each of its locations, donating to local organizations and participating in events and festivals.
