Streetsense Brings "The National," a Geoffrey Zakarian Restaurant, to DC's New Trump International Hotel

BETHESDA, Md., May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Streetsense is pleased to announce the lease signing of "The National," a 160-seat restaurant concept from famed restaurateur and Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian. The restaurant will open inside the Old Post Office Pavilion, which is set to open in mid 2016 as the new 270-room Trump International Hotel.

Streetsense's Brokerage team, led by Jeff Pollak, represented The Trump Organization and oversees restaurant and retail leasing for the hotel. Kim Mogull of Mogull Realty represented Zakarian in the deal. The full-service restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Zakarian plans to work with the nearby Trump Winery to source local and seasonal produce.

Streetsense's Interior Architecture team, led by Herb Heiserman, has also been engaged by Geoffrey Zakarian as the Architect of Record and will be partnering with Robert McKinley Creative Services on the design of the space.

"This deal is exactly what we envisioned for the Trump International Hotel – a well-known and well-respected chef, who can introduce a new concept that is ideal for both our hotel guests and DC residents," said David Orowitz, Senior Vice President for The Trump Organization. "It's been a pleasure working with the Streetsense team to bring this exciting concept to what will be the premier luxury hotel in the city."

"Throughout this process, we've had a strong vision for the offerings and the personalities we wanted to bring to the Trump Hotel; Geoffrey Zakarian and the National fits that vision perfectly," said Jeff Pollak, Managing Principal at Streetsense. "Geoffrey Zakarian's taste and passion for fine cuisine will be a strong addition to DC's growing restaurant scene."
