Strong Showing for PA Table Games Revenue in August

HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gross revenue from gambling at table games in Pennsylvania casinos during August was nearly 5% higher than last year, according to figures released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Posted on the Board's web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, the report shows that August gross table games revenue was $69,551,148, an amount 4.7% higher than the previous August and the second highest amount in a single month only behind the $69,770,440 in revenue during March 2015. 

Total tax revenue from table games play during August was $10,021,627 with an average of 1,135 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.

The uptick in table games revenue helped minimize an overall gaming revenue decrease in August. The Board had earlier this month reported that slot machine revenue fell 3.3% in August of this year.  Together, revenue from slot machines and table games was $272,577,311 this August, a 1.4% drop compared to $276,446,817 in August 2014.
