Stronger than the Storm Announces Soundoff Winner

TRENTON, N.J., Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stronger than the Storm, a comprehensive consumer campaign developed to raise awareness of the Jersey Shore's recovery, announced today the grand prize winner of the Jersey Shore Soundoff music competition. Stronger than the Storm, with the help of public votes and celebrity judges, congratulates the winner of the state-wide music competition, After The Reign, who will perform "Jersey Strong," in advance of the Spin Doctors at the Stone Pony on September 7.

With more than 230 entries submitted from residents all over the state, it was a highly competitive process for all contenders. After two rounds and 2,255 votes cast in the final round for "Jersey Strong," After The Reign's summer anthem stood out as the truest culmination of the Jersey Shore's strength, spirit and resilience.

"We are honored to be recognized by the people of New Jersey and Stronger than the Storm for our contribution to the recovery through the best way we know how— our music," said John Strevens, writer of the winning song. "Our song pays tribute to the hardships that everyone endured as well as the progress we have made as loud, proud New Jerseyans."

Recognized as New Jersey's premier country band, After The Reign's Jersey Shore roots run deep with all six members calling the region their home. Impacted personally by Superstorm Sandy, the members spend most of their days helping to rebuild the coast's communities, while uplifting residents and raising money for the recovery efforts at night with their music.
