Stronger than the Storm Geared Up and Ready for July Festivities
Join Stronger than the Storm for family friendly fun in the sun at the Jersey Shore throughout July
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stronger than the Storm, a comprehensive consumer campaign developed to bring awareness to the Jersey Shore's recovery, today announced a calendar full of family fun in the sun for the month of July at the Jersey Shore. Highlights include Kites and Castles, Boats and Boards at Barnegat Bay and a Tug-of-War competition celebrating National Tug of War Day.
Kites and Castles (#kitesandcastles) - a Stronger than the Storm program - will tour the Jersey Shore, making stops throughout the months of July and August. Each event features a professional sand sculpture and sand castle building workshop where children and adults can learn tricks of the trade from World Class Sand Sculptor Matt Long. Likewise, a workshop teaching children to design and fly kites will be instructed by Mike and Seal Dallmer of the South Jersey Kite Flyers Club. This fun filled family event is sure to bring out the creative side of every child and adult that participates.

In celebration of National Tug-of-War Day, Stronger than the Storm is hosting a beach-side Tug-of-War Tournament (#STTStugofwar) on July 21st in Seaside Park at 9:00 a.m. Teams will be comprised of eight to 10 members and divided by weight class. The event will take place at the Stronger than the Storm Arena – a battleground to compete for the ultimate bragging rights. Team names and outfits are recommended and cheering squads are highly encouraged. Teams can register online; enrollment is open to men, women and children.
Also this month, Stronger than the Storm will make a big splash with Boats and Boards at Barnegat Bay (#boatsandboards) – hosting a week's worth of exciting activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, beach volleyball, miniature golf and more. This will take place at Shelter Cove Park in Toms River, NJ on July 22nd - 26th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
