Stryker Brings Joint Health Education To The Course At The Safeway Open With Health Walk Sweepstakes

MAHWAH, N.J., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Stryker makes its first appearance at The Safeway Open in Napa, California, providing golf fans engaging experiences to learn more about joint health and joint replacement. With local orthopaedic surgeons onsite, Stryker's Health Walk Challenge Sweepstakes and the interactive Accuracy Challenge, there is something for everyone.

Did you know a PGA TOUR player walks about 5-6 miles during an 18-hole round? With many fans walking that same distance or more to catch all the action, it's the perfect time to think about joint health. Local orthopaedic surgeons will be at The Mobility Zone® to provide an onsite resource for questions about joint pain and to discuss potential treatment options.

The Mobility Zone offers information and resources about joint replacement, including Stryker's Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery – one of the latest advancements in joint replacement surgery.

Ritis, participants will attempt to remove replica arthritic bones and replace them with Stryker's hip and knee implants, with the best scores of the day posted on-screen in The Mobility Zone.

While walking the course, fans will have the opportunity to participate in Stryker's Health Walk Challenge Sweepstakes to receive a Safeway gift card and a chance to win a grand prize. Throughout the 2-mile Health Walk, interactive signs will provide joint health education and challenging golf trivia. Participants are invited to write down the answers to at least three Health Walk questions and bring them to The Mobility Zone near the 17th fairway to receive their gift card and to have a chance to win a grand prize.

The Mobility Zone also offers the opportunity to support K9s For Warriors by purchasing the same hat that PGA TOUR professional, and longtime brand ambassador, Fred Funk wears. With each purchase, Stryker will make a donation to the organization, which finds, trains and matches service dogs with veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury or other military trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.
