SuccessEHS among First EHR Vendors to Enter Production HIE with SCHIEx

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SuccessEHS today announced that it is one of the first ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) vendors to successfully move into production health information exchange (HIE) with South Carolina's Health Information Exchange (SCHIEx). SuccessEHS was the first ambulatory EHR vendor to demonstrate a successful connection with SCHIEx in 2012, and has now completed the onboarding process.

SCHIEx is a technology and policy framework that enables participating health care providers to electronically exchange clinical information such as medical histories, medications, allergies, diagnoses and procedures for treatment, public health and quality reporting purposes. The connection with SCHIEx allows SuccessEHS clients and their patients to benefit from advanced HIE, and also enables SuccessEHS clients to submit data to the South Carolina Immunization Registry. SuccessEHS's production exchange of data through SCHIEx will have a direct bearing on the quality of care delivered to more than 27,000 individuals in South Carolina whom are cared for by SuccessEHS client Little River Medical Center.
