Sumitomo Electric Networks Selects Gigle Networks' Intelligent Multi-PHY Switching Technology for Broadband Delivery Products

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., BARCELONA, Spain and EDINBURGH, Scotland, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Gigle Networks, the leading developer of intelligent multi-PHY switching devices for both wired and wireless entertainment-grade home networking, today announced that Sumitomo Electric Networks has selected the GGL301 200Mbps Intelligent Multi-PHY Switch for use in a wide range of broadband delivery applications.

Sumitomo Electric Networks' selection of the GGL301 intelligent switch solution will introduce Gigle Networks' technology to the Japanese market for home and business broadband delivery and networking. These applications include:  providing video on demand in hotels; creating computer networks in schools and hospitals; and providing internet access to individual apartments in multiple dwelling units (MDUs). Gigle Networks' GGL301 device will enable Sumitomo Electric Networks' products to deliver these capabilities over existing coaxial cables.
