NEW YORK, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- EILEEN FISHER, purveyor of beautifully simple clothes that give women comfort, elegance, and confidence, is once again partnering with over 200 boutiques across the nation for the fourth bi-annual Shop Local event April 24th through April 26th. Two times per year, this three day celebration honors and thanks the small business owners who gave the brand its start 30 years ago. In celebration of Earth Month, all participating stores this year will be able to take part in GREEN EILEEN Recycling Rewards to help reduce environmental impact and waste. Stores can accept donations of gently worn EILEEN FISHER clothing from customers who will in turn receive a Recycling Rewards gift certificate of $5 per donated item. Gift certificates can only be spent in the same participating store during the Shop Local event.

Designer Eileen Fisher remembers when the brand launched three decades ago through a handful of boutiques. "If eight boutique owners hadn't picked up my collection at the first trade show I took part in, I don't know if I would be here now. I am forever grateful to these independent stores for the opportunities and support they gave me and my brand, and I appreciate what they do for burgeoning designers all over the country."

Each participating Shop Local store will be supported by EILEEN FISHER's corporate advertising, social media, website and a public relations campaign.

In keeping with Fisher' s philosophy of giving back, Shop Local boutiques will also be encouraged to donate a portion of their sales proceeds over the three days to a local charity of their choice.
