From the Team Behind Sushi Nigiriba, the New Concept Focuses on Community and Tradition
CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sushi Blissba, the newest concept from SUSHI-TEN USA, the group behind Sushi Nigiriba, is set to open October 1 in Cypress, California. With Sushi Nigiriba locations in Culver City and Huntington Beach, SUSHI-TEN USA brings its experience in Japanese cuisine and hospitality to its newest concept, created with the local Cypress community in mind.
Sushi Blissba is an elevated sushi experience centered around authentic Japanese flavors, fresh ingredients, and creative culinary techniques. The restaurant's name combines "Bliss" meaning great happiness, and "Ba" meaning "place" in Japanese, reflecting the Japanese concept of Koufuku (口福), which combines the characters for "mouth" and "happiness" to capture the joy that comes from delicious food.
Led by Corporate Chef Masaya Minyu, Sushi Blissba offers both an à la carte menu and unique coursed experiences, showcasing traditional Japanese dishes alongside creative preparations that incorporate Eastern and Western ingredients. Menu highlights include a Sashimi Boat; Tamagoyaki, a traditional Japanese rolled egg dish, and Anago, saltwater conger eel torched tableside. The menu also features nigiri, rolls, and gunkan, as well as Japanese grilled skewers and fish, cold appetizers like edamame, and dessert such as Matcha Mochi Monaka. Coursed menu experiences range from $32 - $58 for lunch and $46 - $128 for dinner. The Signature dinner menu ($82) includes an appetizer trio, miso soup, edamame, choice of Nigiri, Black Cod Miso, Steamed Egg, Temari ball-shaped Hand Roll, Conger Eel and choice of dessert. The beverage menu includes sake, beer, wine, Chu-Hi, green tea and soft drinks.
Designed as a welcoming destination for both everyday dining and special occasions, the clean, modern space seats 118 guests across the dining room, a 10-seat sushi bar, and a spacious outdoor patio. Curved architectural details, wood accents, arched openings, and vertical paneling create an inviting atmosphere, while pops of red and decorative lighting add character to the space.
