"Swamp People," Presented by Justin & Wrangler, to Invade Alexandria, La. for Grand Opening of Baskins Retail Store

ALEXANDRIA, La., March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Troy and Jacob Landry, better known as the gator-hunting, father-son duo in the History Channel's hit reality TV show "Swamp People," will appear and sign autographs at the new Baskins in Alexandria on Saturday, April 7 as part of the store's two-week Grand Opening festivities.

Troy, known as "King of the Swamp," and son Jacob, a fierce, gator-boat veteran in his own right, will visit the Baskins at 2201 Memorial Drive and sign autographs for the public from 10 am until 2 pm on the 7th. Their appearance -- thanks to presenting sponsors Justin Boots and Wrangler -- will mark the second weekend chock-full of Grand Opening fun, entertainment, merchandise giveaways and register-to-win prizes for the entire family at Baskins, a fast-growing retail chain of western and work wear.

Special events will kick off at Baskins on Thursday, March 29 with a private ribbon cutting and reception for members of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber's free function will feature a benefit performance by a country music star from the nationally syndicated TV show "Troubadour, TX." Chamber members will also have the opportunity to shop at Baskins earlier on Thursday, with 25 percent of the sales during the event being donated to Christus St. Francis Cabrini women's and children's hospital of Alexandria.

Sun., Apr. 1—Petting zoo from 1 pm to 3 pm
Sat., Apr. 7—Swamp People, plus balloon artist and magician, 10 am to 2 pm

The Alexandria store will be the 24th location for Baskins, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Baskins offers its guests the best western and work brands for the entire family.
