Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Names Jeff Summerville Head Financial & Professional Services, North America

NEW YORK, May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Jeff Summerville to be Head Financial & Professional Services, North America, effective 19 May 2014. In this Managing Director role, he will lead underwriting teams for corresponding lines of business.

Mr. Summerville's primary responsibility will be to develop and execute Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' regional growth strategy for the Financial & Professional Services product portfolio, which includes insurance coverage for:

• Management liability and executive risks – directors and officers liability, employment practices liability and fiduciary liability;
• Professional liability – lawyers, insurance agents, architects and engineers, as well as technology and cyber risks and hospital medical malpractice;
• Construction industry professional indemnity.

Mr. Summerville has more than 25 years of experience in the financial and professional liability market with significant brokerage relationships and an excellent track record of driving sustainable revenue growth in this segment. He will report directly to Robert Petrilli, Head of North America.

Mr. Summerville has held underwriting and senior-level positions with Chubb, Zurich and, most recently, Endurance Specialty Holdings. As senior vice president, global product line manager at Endurance, he was responsible for underwriting oversight of all management liability, professional liability, surety and trade credit insurance and reinsurance business.

Markus Zwyssig, who held the Head Financial & Professional Services role ad interim, will continue to lead the regional specialties underwriting teams as Head Specialties North America.
