SXSW Eco 2015 Conference Convenes Business Leaders, Innovators, Investors and Designers to Drive Economic, Environmental and Social Change

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SXSW Eco kicked off its 2015 season today and is now open for business at sxsweco.com. We are accepting conference registrations, hotel requests, PanelPicker submissions, press applications and entries to the Place By Design and Startup Showcase pitch competitions. SXSW Eco will take place Monday, October 5 through Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Austin, Texas.

Celebrating its fifth year, SXSW Eco will focus 2015 around innovation in technology and design that positively impacts the economy, the environment and society. In addition to panel sessions, the conference will feature collaborative programming formats such as one-on-one coaching sessions and speed dating-style events, designed to connect the audience of business leaders, innovators, investors and designers

PanelPicker Submissions
SXSW Eco is now accepting content submissions through the PanelPicker platform, which enables the community to submit session ideas online through May 1. During the public voting period May 11-22, the community will help shape SXSW Eco's 2015 program by selecting favorite session ideas. Program announcements will be made in early June and throughout the summer.

The application categories for this year's SXSW Eco design competition, Place by Design, include: Public Space, Innovative Architecture, Public Art and Digital Space. New for 2015, SXSW Eco will invite the Finalists for the Place By Design competition to deliver live pitches at the event in front of a panel of judges.

Startup Showcase Pitch Competition
This year's SXSW Eco Startup Showcase pitch competition is expanding to companies from around the world in the following categories: Energy, Building, Water, Global Health, Internet of Things + Smart Home, Social Impact, Supply Chain + Product Innovation, Transportation, Reuse + Recycling, Seed Stage and Not-For-Profit. In the past three years, participating companies have gone on to receive funding totaling over $30M and acquire global brands as clients.
