TAMPA, Fla., June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Synergy Health (LSE: SYR.L), a leading provider of specialized healthcare support services, secures $68 million in contracts following the relocation of its Americas headquarters to downtown Tampa.
"Our Americas region grew by 24.8% during the 2013-2014 financial year, and as a company we are placing great emphasis on Tampa," said Lance Cunningham, President, Hospital Sterilization Services. Among the new contracts is a partnership with a large, 16-hospital health system that will see Synergy Health and the network create the largest center for instrument sterilization in the United States. "Our recent contract wins further cement our commitment to grow our presence and workforce at our corporate headquarters in Tampa," Cunningham said.
The company released its worldwide results earlier this month, with underlying growth rates for the entire company reaching 5.3%. Additionally, Synergy Health will launch an outsourcing partnership with SterilMed Inc., based in Minneapolis, MN, in which the company will perform manufacturing and distribution operations.
Synergy Health relocated downtown to the SunTrust building last fall following the July 2012 acquisition of SRI Surgical in Oldsmar. Since the move the company has increased its workforce by 25%, and is actively recruiting more than 25 positions.
The U.K.-based Synergy Health provides sterilization services to hospitals in Europe, Asia and across the United States for surgical instruments and reusable operating room textiles, as well as sterilization services for medical devices. The company currently employs 6,000 individuals worldwide.
