"The DS1515 and RS815 offer excellent value for growing companies that need easy scalability, with on-the-fly plug and play expansions," said Synology Product Marketing Manager Jason Bonoan. "Plus, work groups can use these NAS with Cloud Station and sync their files when they are on the go."

DS1515

For small work groups and creative professionals; the DS1515 offers cross platform file sharing, remote access with mobile devices, and scalability to add storage in the future. Synology's powerful DS1515 is the company's first 5-bay Value series model with a quad core CPU, hardware encryption engine, and four built-in Gigabit LAN ports that can provide link aggregation for increased performance or high availability to minimize downtime. Individuals can also use the device for advanced, physical security for home and office.

RS815

The compact RS815 is a 4-bay rack mount that is only 12 inches deep and scalable up to 48TB with expansion units. Because of its easy two-post installation, the RS815 is perfect for businesses with limited space and large storage needs.  Additionally, home theater enthusiasts can centralize their large multimedia collections into one entertainment hub that can be accessed remotely. They can stream music and video from anywhere, at any time – as long as there is a web connection.

Avoid Down Time, Better Reliability, and Included 3-Year Warranty for Peace of Mind

With hot swappable ability for the DS1515 and the RS815, users can easily configure and manage RAID for better reliability and avoid downtime. The DS1515 can use High Availability – in case a server fails, there is a seamless transition to another server that is in the cluster, so operations can continue.  The DS1515 also has four Gigabit LAN ports for network redundancy for unexpected hardware failure, and hot swappable drives that minimize system downtime during drive replacement.

24/7 Security Solutions with Remote Access

At no additional cost, the DS1515 and RS815 offer 24/7 home and office security, when they are used with Synology's Surveillance Station package. Provided with two default camera licenses, users can connect and manage IP cameras remotely; watch live views; record events; and take snapshots with their computer or mobile device.  Smart analytics detect motion and can send alerts to users via email and the DiskStation Cam.
