Tasty Bite Concludes Austin Flavor Tour With 'Tasty Bite on Board'

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Austinites have seen the Tasty Bite mobile vans and street teams around the city, sampling its healthy dishes and 'spicing up' local events since early October. Now America's leading brand of all natural, ready-to-eat Pan-Asian food is turning up the heat by partnering with local food carts on a 'Tasty Bite on Board' program to help fight hunger in Central Texas.  

Today, Chi'Lantro BBQ, a popular Austin truck with Mexican and Korean cuisine, will use Tasty Bite's Thai Lime Rice as a featured product in all of its burritos. For each burrito sold, Tasty Bite will donate $2 to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.

Chi'Lantro BBQ will be at the "Domain Shopping Center" location on Esperanza Crossing, across from the Texas Culinary Academy from 11:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Tasty Bite street teams will sample additional product alongside the cart, featuring a variety of Austin-inspired recipes.

On Saturday, two additional Austin food carts - the Jalopy and Kate's Southern Comfort – will utilize Tasty Bite meal inspirations and rices in their popular dishes as part of the 'Tasty Bite on Board' program. Both carts kicked off the program this past weekend, helping to generate money for the food bank.

Tasty Bite will also help make a difference in the fight against hunger by sampling at the Austin Empty Bowls Project on November 21-22. Earlier this month, Tasty Bite helped raise money for the initiative by sampling at a Whole Foods community giving day, where five percent of that day's net sales were donated to the Austin Empty Bowls project. Between the start of the 'Tasty Bite on Board' program and Whole Foods community giving day, Tasty Bite has helped raise over $16,000 for the food bank.

Austinites can help support the food bank by purchasing the Tasty Bite inspired entrees at these designated food vendors or attending the Austin Empty Bowls Project.
