Tax Experts Answer Questions on Tax Help Day, March 7, 2014

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- March 7, 2014 has been designated Tax Help Day, when Enrolled Agents, America's Tax Experts will answer taxpayers' tax questions for free at locations throughout California. This event is sponsored by the California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA), an association of tax professionals established in 1976 with 19 chapters throughout California.

On Tax Help Day, Enrolled Agents (EAs) will volunteer their time to answer tax questions for free just in time for taxpayers to work on their own taxes. Volunteer tax experts will not charge for answering questions on this day. They won't prepare any returns or provide any written advice, nor will they bill anyone for their time.

"There is a lot of confusion surrounding how to best file your taxes for 2013, especially this year in light of so many changing tax rules," said CSEA President Patricia Kappen, EA. "With all the tax changes taking place in Congress and the state Legislature, it is more critical than ever to have a qualified tax specialist on your side when preparing your tax and financial strategy." Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. EAs are the only taxpayer representatives licensed to practice by the United States government. Unlike CPAs or attorneys, Enrolled Agents specialize in taxation itself.
