TCL Big-Eye Crystal Washing Machine Wins 2015 iF Design Award

SHENZHEN, China, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL's Big-Eye Crystal washing machine won the 2015 iF Design Award, a prize recognized across the industry as the "Design Oscar," conferred by Germany's oldest industrial design organization - iF Industrie Forum Design. The TCL Big-eye Crystal's aesthetic user-centric design that focuses on the pragmatic use combined with the latest smart functionality was highly recognized by the iF Design Award jury. The award-winning washing machine will be displayed at the iF design exhibition held in Hamburg's HafenCity in October 2015.

As part of TCL's "Smart Home" strategy, the TCL Big-Eye Crystal is a smart WIFI-enabled roller washing machine. By combining a 3D sensor, auto-speed measurement, triangulation technology, and an intelligent processing chip, the TCL Big-Eye Crystal allows for intelligent real-time washing, remote control and monitoring of washing data, as well as energy-saving washing management. Two patented technologies revolutionize the washing process: a redesigned cylinder featuring an interior-convex honeycomb crystal inner cylinder, and a new process for the delivery of the detergent and water featuring indirect detergent foam delivery and waterfall-washing process. These paved the way for the design of a smart washing machine that delivers a new experience in terms of the washing and the post-wash handling of garments.

The identically-rounded corners and the slightly-curved surface as well as the top gold-cut cambered surface and ellipsoid shape give the washing machine its unique character and distinctive air of elegance while expressing the innovation in TCL's manufacturing technology. In addition, the extra-large 490mm window coupled with the oversize door and inner cylinder allow users to clearly observe what is going on in the machine during each step of the wash cycle.
