TCL Corporation Boosts Presence in Brazil's Color TV Market with Attendance at Eletrolar Show 2015

SHENZHEN, China, July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL Corporation, along with TCL Multimedia and some of its other businesses, attended the Eletrolar Show 2015 on July 20th. TCL Corporation has put in place a definite plan to enter the color TV market in Brazil; within the plan, the Eletrolar Show, the biggest consumer electronics show in Latin America, is a major component.

"We will not only establish a presence in Brazil, but have resolved to become one of the leaders in the local market," explained TCL Multimedia overseas executive Wang Cheng. The products that TCL Multimedia has displayed at the show include a series of high-end innovative products, including the latest curved surface high color gamut TV H8800, the QLED TV H9700 with industry-leading display technology as well as the 85" big screen 4K UHD H9500, among other innovative products.

After years of observing and studying the Brazilian market, TCL Corporation's TCL Multimedia began to implement its strategy to push into the Brazilian market in 2015. The company is now negotiating with local distributors across Brazil to prepare for the product roll-out at the end of this year. Plans are also in place to build local factories as a first step in implementing a long-term development strategy over the next five to ten years.

TCL Corporation announced in 2015 that it will step up efforts to establish a presence in India and Brazil as a part of the core strategy of what it termed the "joint strength of three armies" to muster the full power of the company's resources and "brand priority", that is, the strength of the brand, to gain a firm footing in emerging markets. The company has established locally-based manufacturing capacity to support business expansion. "Joint action of three armies" means that TCL Multimedia, TCL Communication and TCL Household Appliances will join hands in entering Brazil and India in a move to enhance cooperation across industries; "Brand priority" means that the corporation will prioritize its TCL brand business planning in the two countries while its original ODM businesses in these two markets will eventually be converted into OBM operations.
