Teach for America Phoenix Receives Donation From Local Entrepreneur Jason Hope
Hope's Donation Goes to the Sponsor A Teacher Program Benefiting Recruitment, Training and Support For Future Phoenix-Area Teach for America Corps
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Combining his passion for philanthropy, education and business, Scottsdale-based entrepreneur Jason Hope is pleased to donate to Teach for America's Phoenix chapter. His donation will benefit the organization's Sponsor A Teacher campaign, enabling Teach for America to recruit, select, train and support outstanding recent college graduates for its Phoenix corps. Hope joins an esteemed list of Arizonians who have pledged funds to the Teach for America Phoenix chapter in an effort to alter the outlook of the city's most disadvantaged students and build educational equality.
"A good education should not be a privilege but a right for every student in Arizona, no matter what their socioeconomic background. Teach for America Phoenix plays a key role in tackling this ideal and has made significant progress in giving underserved schools and students across the Valley the opportunities they deserve. I'm proud to give to such a noble cause," said Jason Hope.
As part of his donor status, Hope will have the opportunity to witness the direct impact of his investment through classroom visits and interactions with Phoenix corps members and alumni, something he looks forward to. Currently, more than 320 of the nation's top recent college graduates are working in Phoenix's impoverished areas as Teach for America corps members.
