Teachers to Win $5000 for Excellence in Teaching Medal of Honor Values
ARLINGTON, Va., June 16, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation announced today that two teachers will win $5,000 awards for excellence in teaching the Medal of Honor Character Development Program (CDP). The new Medal of Honor Excellence in Character Education Awards will be presented during the Foundation's Circle of Honor Gala scheduled for Oct. 7 at the Jonathan Club in Los Angeles.
One middle school teacher and one high school teacher will win the awards. The award criteria and application are available for educators at www.themedalofhonor.com. The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation will accept applications from educators through August 15. The awards are made possible by THE CORRINE AND LENNY SANDS FAMILY FOUNDATION.

The CDP contains nearly 60 different lesson plans for educators to use in teaching the values of integrity, sacrifice, patriotism and selfless service to their students. The program also contains more than 120 video histories of Medal of Honor Recipients.
