Teachscape Wins Return on Education (ROE) Innovation Award for its Teacher Support Programs and Services
Company recognized by Arizona State University, the Clayton Christensen Institute and GSV Advisors at the 2013 Education Innovation Summit
SAN FRANCISCO, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Teachscape, the leader in delivering Web-based professional learning content, innovative classroom observation and evaluation technologies, and expert services to improve teaching practice, was named the winner of the inaugural Return on Education (ROE) Innovation Award in the Teacher Support category. Presented by Arizona State University, the Clayton Christensen Institute and GSV Advisors, the award was given at the 2013 Education Innovation Summit in Scottsdale, AZ.
The ROE Innovation Awards received 150 company nominations, which were narrowed down to finalists based on the criteria of dramatically improving learning outcomes, providing substantial leverage to learning leaders, significantly increasing access to education and greatly reducing the cost for learners and/or learning institutions. Winners were then chosen by registrants of the summit, which included executives from both well-established and start-up education companies, as well as organizations that invest in education.
"Our partnerships with districts and states to implement continuous improvement processes to support educators are the key to helping us meet the criteria of this prestigious award and are the driving factor behind all we do," said Kathy Yates, chief executive officer of Teachscape. "It is exciting to be working with so many thought leaders in the education community who are working to make these new evaluation systems developmental and supportive of both individual teachers and the teaching profession."
Bridging the gap between education research and everyday teaching practice, Teachscape was the first company to develop a research-based, online library of video-rich learning modules; the first to launch classroom walkthrough software; and the first to offer panoramic video observation tools and an online proficiency assessment for classroom observers.
Teachscape provides educators with software tools, professional learning resources, and expert services that systematically improve teaching practice and accelerate professional growth. With the Teachscape Effectiveness Platform, district leaders can strengthen the effectiveness of their organizations, resulting in more focused and aligned staff, increased personnel retention and professionalism, and better student outcomes.
