
Team of Texas Rodeo Stars To Pursue Their Dreams, Thanks To Baskins
HUMBLE, Texas, Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Thanks to a sponsorship announced today by Baskins, the Official Western Store of Texas™, 20 of the state's top young cowboys and cowgirls have gained support in pursuing their dreams of becoming rodeo stars.
The first "Baskins Rodeo Team" has been named in partnership with the Regions of Texas High School Rodeo Association. Twenty high school seniors were selected to the team on the basis of outstanding performance in statewide rodeo competition (THSRA junior-year point standings) as well as academic achievement.
The 2012 Baskins Rodeo Team lineup includes:
Boys: Roger Brandt, Amarillo; Austin Courmie, Oakwood; Blane Cox, Cameron; Cooper Davis, Jasper; Levi Gutierrez, Bracketville; Dakoda Leopold, Louise; Paul Melvin, Paradise; Justin Moore, Rio Vista; Justin Shaffer, Hallsville; Randall Tate Teague, Rankin.
Girls: Maegan Boyd, San Augustine; Alex Carter, Seminole; Heather Hassler, Madisonville; Sarah Ingle, Campbell; Cheyenne Kelly, Halletsville; Kirsten Parker, Florence; Lauren Patterson, Spearman; Kassidy Pruett, Cedar Lane; Deven Riggins, Weatherford; and Katie Wojciechowski, Tarpley.
Members of the Baskins Rodeo Team will each receive a Baskins rodeo shirt as well as a $250 gift card toward the latest popular western wear that Baskins customers have come to enjoy over the years. Team members will also receive a $250 scholarship check from Baskins and have the chance to earn a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded after the state rodeo finals.
