TeamHealth Expands Michigan Presence

(NYSE: TMH), one of the nation's largest providers of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals, announced the merger of the operations of Emergency Medicine Specialists (EMS) and its affiliated revenue cycle management and back-office support entity Midwest Emergency Services (MES) with TeamHealth. Based in metro Detroit, EMS manages and staffs emergency departments for Ascension Health and McLaren Health Care at the following eight area facilities: St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit; St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren; St. John Macomb-Oakland in Madison Heights; St. John River District in East China; St. John Medical Center Macomb Township in Macomb Township; McLaren Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant; McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing; and McLaren Flint in Flint. As one of the oldest emergency physician groups in Michigan, EMS provides care for approximately 400,000 patients annually.
