TechAmerica to Enhance Public Sector Outreach

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Public sector leaders Larry Allen and William Greenwalt are joining TechAmerica, the public sector and public policy department of CompTIA, to serve as senior advisors.  Their addition continues CompTIA's mission to enhance public sector outreach for TechAmerica members and help identify areas where the private sector can bolster innovation and efficiency within government. 

Bringing more than 20 years of experience in leading the Coalition for Government Procurement and as a lecturer and consultant, Larry Allen provides expert insight into various aspects of the federal market, including spending trends, market leaders, acquisition policy and the opportunities to shape federal acquisition via coordinated government affairs campaigns. He has written or contributed to three books on government contracting, including Multiple Award Schedule Contracting, The Secret of Schedules Sales Success and Business to Government.

William Greenwalt has served in senior positions at the Pentagon, in Congress and in the defense industry. As deputy under secretary of defense for industrial policy, he advised the under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics on all matters relating to the defense industrial base. In Congress, he served as deputy director for the Surveys and Investigations staff of the House Appropriations Committee, as well as a professional staff member for the Senate Armed Services and Senate Governmental Affairs Committees. As a Senate staff member, his work on reforms of management and acquisition practices led to the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996.  Greenwalt also has worked for Lockheed Martin as director of federal acquisition policy and was later the vice president of acquisition policy at the Aerospace Industries Association.
