TechInsights Now Accepting Nominations for the 2013 Insight Awards

OTTAWA, Ontario, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TechInsights, the leader in technology and IP consulting, announced today the launch of the 2013 edition of its annual Insight Awards. The program categories have been finalized and nominations are now being accepted until December 31, 2013.

As one of the founders of the semiconductor forensic analysis industry, TechInsights created the Insight Awards to recognize semiconductor companies for their technical achievements and innovations in design and engineering. The 2013 edition of the Insight Awards program features a renewed focus on the categories that capture the evolving landscape of the semiconductor and electronics industries, while continuing to celebrate the contributions of designers and engineers that makes our connected world possible.

The Semiconductor Applications Forecaster (SAF) from International Data Corp. (IDC) stated that worldwide semiconductor sales reached over $320 billion in 2012 while also forecasting a 6.9% growth in sales for 2013. Leading a large percentage of this growth, is the rise in use of advanced logic process semiconductors, memory such as DRAM and NAND-based devices, and the rising use of application processors in mobile electronics.  The 2013 edition of the Insight Awards  recognizes these areas.

• Most Innovative Logic Process Technology
• Most Innovative Application Processor/System-on-chip (SoC)
• Semiconductor of the Year

Category winners will be announced as they are confirmed in April 2014.
