Built around a newly developed 40 mm Magnetic Fluid Driver, the EAH-A1000 brings together acoustic technologies derived from Technics speaker development, a new generation of Adaptive Noise Cancelling and the newly designed Flow Arm. The model brings Technics' long-standing sound philosophy to personal audio for listeners seeking a greater music experience.

Elevating Personal Listening Through Technics Acoustic Technologies

Technics approach to sound has always centered on faithfully reproducing music with careful attention to avoiding excessive coloration. The EAH-A1000 continues that philosophy, seeking to reproduce the atmosphere of the original performance, the attack and decay of each note and the sense of space to draw listeners more deeply into the music. To achieve this, Technics reconsidered every element of its over-ear headphone, including the driver mechanism, diaphragm material, surround structure, acoustic design, and the fit and seal around the ears.

Newly Developed 40 mm Magnetic Fluid Driver Reproduces Music with Clarity and Accuracy

In developing the EAH-A1000, Technics set out to combine low-distortion music reproduction with the expansive soundstage and sense of scale offered by over-ear headphones. Precise driver control was essential to that goal.

Larger-diameter drivers are generally more difficult to control, as even slight tilting or misalignment of the moving diaphragm, or flexing of the diaphragm itself, can create distortion. To address this challenge, the EAH-A1000 uses a newly developed 40 mm Magnetic Fluid Driver, drawing from Technics magnetic fluid technology which has been previously employed in its in-ear models, including the EAH-TZ700 and EAH-AZ100.

Magnetic fluid is a functional material with both magnetic and liquid properties. Placed between the voice coil and driver magnet, it supports precise driver movement. This helps suppress unwanted vibration and distortion that can occur in large-diameter drivers, enabling high-precision music reproduction.

SST Edge and Pure Carbon Fiber^[1] Diaphragm Deliver Accurate, High-Resolution Sound

To further enhance the performance of the 40 mm Magnetic Fluid Driver, the EAH-A1000 incorporates an SST (Symmetrical Surround Technology) Edge, also used in Technics Hi-Fi flagship speakers. By improving the symmetry of the edge's back and forth movement as it supports the diaphragm, the design minimizes distortion.

The diaphragm uses lightweight, rigid carbon fiber. Its cone shape also helps suppress the flexing that can occur in a large-diameter diaphragm, supporting fast response and stable movement.

Together, these technologies better preserve the sense of scale in the bass and the spacious soundstage associated with over-ear headphones while reproducing music more faithfully created by any artist.

Designed for Natural, Spacious Presentation Without Compromising the Sound Field

The EAH-A1000 also features a redesigned acoustic path that better preserves the air movement generated by the driver, all the way to the ear.

A new Baffle Flat Structure reduces uneven surfaces around the driver to limit unwanted reflections and create a more natural sound field with clear imaging.

Behind the driver, an Acoustic Control Chamber better manages airflow. By balancing the low and midrange frequencies, it delivers a more balanced sound without overemphasizing a specific frequency range.

Adaptive Noise Cancelling Supports Immersive Listening

The EAH-A1000 features Adaptive Noise Cancelling, which seeks to optimize noise-canceling performance based on ambient noise and the fit of the headphones. Three feed-forward microphones and one feedback microphone on each side detect and suppress noise entering from different directions. From listening at home to traveling, the system helps create an environment that allows listeners to immerse themselves fully in music.

Premium Design Balances a Lightweight Look with Elegance

The EAH-A1000 introduces a more modern, refined design for a flagship model. The new Flow Arm uses a distinctive structure that transitions from a square shape at the slider to a triangular shape at the hanger. Its single-sided support design pairs with Technics' signature circular housings for a light, streamlined appearance.

Metal is used for the arm and the top panels of the housings, with a finish that highlights the material's natural character. The design also carries forward the circular machining associated with Technics headphones as an expression of the brand's identity.

The EAH-A1000 will be offered in Black and Platinum Greige. New to the line, Platinum Greige is a soft tone that blends gray and beige. It offers a more premium finish designed to complement fashion and everyday style.

Comfortable Fit for Extended Listening

The fit has also been completely re-engineered. An optimized range of ear cup movement, a refined headband shape, and improved slider-based position adjustability distribute pressure evenly across the head, reducing strain. The design accommodates a range of head shapes.

The ear pads use high-density memory foam designed to balance durability and comfort during extended listening.

Technology and Usability for Longer, Immersive Listening Sessions

The EAH-A1000 supports high-resolution audio playback via LDAC and USB Audio. It also offers up to 45 hours of continuous playback and multipoint connectivity with up to three devices. Physical buttons and a slide control provide intuitive operation.
