Techonomy Media Announces Techonomy Conference 2011
Second Annual Techonomy is November 13 - 15, 2011 at Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain Resort in Tucson, Arizona
NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Techonomy Media, today, announces the second annual Techonomy Conference, devoted to accelerating innovation. The conference will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain Resort in Tucson, Arizona. Host of the conference is Techonomy founder David Kirkpatrick.
"We created Techonomy because we believe that leaders in business and society don't sufficiently appreciate the pace and gravity of technological change, and the opportunities that represents," said Kirkpatrick. The event brings together a diverse group of leaders with the goal of accelerating innovation both in the U.S. and globally. This year's Techonomy aims to further advance the global dialogue about the centrality of technology and innovation in driving progress for both business and society.
Among the attendees at Techonomy 2010 was Jim Breyer of Accel Partners and a board member of Facebook, Dell and Wal-Mart. Says Breyer, "At Techonomy I found not only a range of topics that were fundamentally compelling and interesting, but a very deep experience base from across a range of industries, which allowed me to test my long-term investment hypotheses in a really meaningful way."
Techonomy will partner with Ashoka, one of the premier social sector organizations, as its activation partner. Ashoka and its global network of nearly 3,000 leading social entrepreneurs will provide a range of opportunities to move forward the most promising ideas, partnerships and initiatives coming out of the event.
Bill Drayton, founder and CEO of Ashoka said, "The only thing more powerful than an innovative idea in the hands of a entrepreneur who aims to change the world is when these innovators come together and start collaborating, as we saw in last year's Techonomy conference. Ashoka is eager to help Techonomy turn this year's conversation into collaborative action and impact."
