Ted Polich, Founder of Morris Polich & Purdy LLP, Dies

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 27, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- It is with great sadness that Morris Polich & Purdy LLP announces the death of Ted Polich, one of the founders of the firm, who died peacefully at home on Friday December 24th.

In 1969, Ted Polich and Landon Morris formed what is now known as Morris Polich & Purdy LLP. Doug Purdy joined them a year later, and together they built a firm which today has a tremendous reputation with over 80 attorneys and five offices in California and Nevada.

Ted Polich was remarkable for the breadth of his contributions to law, including his dedication to the ASCDC (Association of Southern California Defense Counsel), his being an ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) trial attorney, as well as his reputation, excellence and ethics. Ted will probably be best remembered, however, for being one of the most professional, friendly, caring, loyal and generous people anyone could ever meet.

In an increasingly fast-paced and often impersonal world, he always found the time to stop and offer a warm greeting and a kind or encouraging word — and not just to his close friends but to everyone, the parking attendant, the court reporter, the waiter, the court clerk, the security guard. He touched our lives, brightened our days and made all of us a little better," says partner and long time friend Doug Purdy. "Ted never asked for anything in return for this; it was just who he was. But, oh, how that genuine interest and good will was appreciated and reciprocated! How many times have we heard it, often from total strangers and in places we would never expect: 'How is Mr. Polich?' 'Ted is a friend of mine,' 'Tell Teddy hello from me.' None of us has ever known a better loved man. He was special."

Ted's funeral will be held on Thursday, December 30th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stevens Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, located at 1621 West Garvey, in Alhambra.
