Tektronix Two-Time Finalist in 2015 R&D 100 Awards

BEAVERTON, Ore., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced its DPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope has been named a finalist in the 2015 R&D 100 Awards along with its Keithley DMM7510 Graphical Sampling Multimeter in the Analytical/Test Category.

The annual R&D Awards recognize 100 of the top technology products introduced in the past year across 20 different categories. Past winners have included innovations in chemistry, consumer items, analytical/test equipment, and biomedical products. All finalists are selected by an independent judging panel and the editors of R&D Magazine.

A major contributing factor to the DPO70000SX oscilloscope's revolutionary performance is Asynchronous Time Interleaving (ATI).  Current approaches for digitizing ultra-high bandwidth signals distribute signal energy to two digitizing paths, then use a DSP to reconstruct the input signal. Unlike these schemes, Tektronix' unique ATI architecture provides a symmetric technique that delivers all signal energy to both digitizing paths resulting in an inherent noise advantage.
