According to industry analyst firm ABI Research, Latin America outperformed all other regions in mobile revenue growth between 1Q/2010 to 1Q/2011, growing 17 percent compared to 8.9 percent in North America. This growth is largely attributed to increased subscriptions and ARPU (average revenue per user), partly driven by the growing affluence of the region's population.
