Operator Realizes Next Gen Potential with Significant OPEX Savings, Implementation Recognized as Finalist in TM Forum 2010 Excellence Awards

PISCATAWAY, N.J., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Telcordia, a global leader in the development of fixed, mobile and broadband communications software and services, and Telekom Slovenije today announced the successful implementation of the company's NGOSS solution that is driving significant OPEX savings and supporting the introduction of state-of-the-art IT operations systems covering their complete service portfolio ranging from copper XDSL, through FTTX and from Ethernet to complex VPN services. The deployed solution has enabled Telekom Slovenije to speed the introduction of mass market services and realize the full potential of its operations, based on a centralized inventory system that has eradicated silos, consolidated data and fostered automation.

The transformation project has been named a finalist in the Operational Excellence category at the TM Forum 2010 Excellence Awards. Winners will be announced at the show in Nice, France, on May 18, 2010.

At the core of the solution is the Telcordia Next Generation OSS solution, including Telcordia® Network Engineer and Telcordia® Granite Inventory. The transformation project, which fully supports TM Forum standards, including eTOM, TAM and SID, has resulted in 90 percent automation of service design across its network, a 30 percent reduction in order-to-cash time for residential and business services, and a 15 percent reduction in OPEX maintenance costs.
