Telect Honored With Seattle Business Magazine's 2014 Family Business Award for Transformation

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash., Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Telect, a global leader in the design and manufacture of network infrastructure equipment solutions, headquartered in Liberty Lake, Washington, was honored at the 2014 Washington Family Business Awards, at Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle, on November 18. Seattle Business magazine announced Telect as the recipient of the 2014 Family Business Award for Transformation.

The award recognizes the Williamses for "encouraging and embracing new opportunities" in their family-owned and family-operated Washington business. Bill and Judi Williams founded Telect in Spokane, Washington, in 1982. Bill and Judi's son, Wayne Williams, became President in 1994 and President and CEO in 1997. He continues to lead the company as President and CEO, and now works alongside the youngest generation of the Williams family. Wayne and his wife, Terina, have three grown children: Mitch Williams, President and CEO of a Telect spin-out company— Weckey, a smart guestbook and visitor management system; Spencer Williams, Telect's Director of Regional Sales; and Shayla (Williams) McGhee, Telect's Technical Marketing Specialist. Son-in-law Sam McGhee is Telect's lead photographer and videographer. Terina Williams serves on Telect's Board of Directors. Bill and Judi Williams are now retired but also serve on the Telect board.
