LOS ANGELES, July 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Teleflora, the world's leading floral delivery service that works hand-in-hand with local florists to provide artistically-arranged and hand-delivered floral arrangements set its plans for Make Someone Smile® Week, the floral industry's leading benevolent program. From Sunday, July 17 through Saturday, July 23, Teleflora member florists and community volunteers around the country will be out in full force delivering Be Happy® Bouquets to those in their neighborhoods most in need of a smile. Their floral donations will benefit patients at hospitals, senior citizens living in nursing homes and assisted living homes, and recipients of Meals-on-Wheels programs.
Teleflora will donate more than 25,000 Be Happy® Mugs, a "Fan Favorite" product to Teleflora's 40 units across the country. Member florists will work with local wholesalers and growers in their areas to secure donations of flowers. The donated flowers will help local Teleflora florists design the cheerful Be Happy® Bouquets, full of fresh white daisies and bright yellow roses and deliver them to residents of their choosing in their neighborhoods.
"This is one of our members most beloved annual events; they just love it," says Rich Salvaggio, vice president of industry relations and publications at Teleflora. "Since the program's inception in 2000, Teleflora member florists work tirelessly and go to great lengths each year to ensure that the residents in their communities benefit from this wonderful program; delivering flowers to those who may never receive them. The heartfelt smiles and touching stories that come out of Make Someone Smile® Week is worth its weight in gold. It's a chance to give back, make people happy, and share the joy of flowers...now how great is that!"
