BOCA RATON, Fla., April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tennis pro, Kevin Anderson, recently spent a few days at Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club practicing for the Roland – Garros French Open Tournament on the club's stadium size red clay court. The French Open only uses red clay courts, which are commonly found in Europe, but are difficult to find in South Florida. On his recent visit to Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club, Anderson took the opportunity to get some practice time in on the same surface that he'll be stepping onto at the tournament, which runs May 19 – June 7, 2015. Boca Grove's Tennis Director, Richard Centerbar, said, "Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club offers a pure, red clay court, which we created with red clay shipped directly from Italy. A red clay court is slower than the Har-Tru clay and produces a higher bounce. When you're training for a tournament, it makes sense to train on the same surface that will be used at the tournament."
In addition to the stadium size red clay court and 11 Har-Tru "American" clay tennis courts offered by Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club, the country club also offers a newly redesigned Jim Fazio 18-hole Championship golf course. New fairways, bunkers and greens, in addition to a new irrigation system and infrastructure, make the Boca Grove golf course among the most captivating in South Florida. The course offers new and interesting challenges for low handicap players, but its new length challenges even long hitters. It has been designed to make golf a pleasurable experience for players of all levels. With no tee times, golfers can play on their schedule at their pace. Golf professionals are always available to give pointers, and ensure members are at the top of their game.
