Terrabis Brings Medical Cannabis Service to Four Illinois Dispensaries

Woodstock, Dixon, Plainfield and Grayville now serving registered patients, with Mundelein to follow

CHICAGO, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Terrabis, a leading multi-state cannabis operator, began serving registered medical cannabis patients today at four of its five Illinois dispensaries: Woodstock, Dixon, Plainfield and Grayville. The company's Mundelein location will join the medical program pending local approvals.

The expansion follows new Illinois rules allowing more adult-use dispensaries to serve registered patients, opening the medical program to communities where patients previously had limited options close to home.

Access Built Around How Patients Actually Shop

Patients face different barriers depending on where they live, and each Terrabis location is set up to remove a different one.

In Woodstock and Grayville, patients can use the drive-thru. Grayville opened the state's first dual-window dispensary drive-thru earlier this month, and Woodstock opened McHenry County's first. For patients with mobility limitations or chronic pain, staying in the vehicle can be the difference between a manageable trip and a difficult one.

In Dixon, the nearest medical dispensaries have been 35 miles or more away. Patients in Lee County and the surrounding area can now meet their needs locally. The Dixon City Council amended its local cannabis ordinance this month to permit drive-thru service, and Terrabis is working with the city and the state on plans for a drive-thru window.

In Plainfield, Terrabis is open from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, hours that extend well past most dispensaries in the area. Patients who work nights or irregular shifts are not limited to a narrow afternoon window. A drive-thru is planned there as well, pending local and state approvals.

Terrabis intends to bring drive-thru service to all five of its Illinois dispensaries as approvals allow.

Two-Week Patient Drive With Leafwell

Terrabis has worked with Leafwell since its Missouri days and carried the partnership into Illinois, offering discounted certifications and periodic patient drives. Beginning today, Terrabis and Leafwell are hosting a two-week online patient drive offering 30% off new medical card registrations and renewals, bringing the cost to $69. A standard discount will remain available through Leafwell after the drive ends.

"Access is the whole point. A patient who can't afford the certification or can't find a nearby provider isn't in the program, no matter what the law says.
